BRIEF

Madison West Consulting  collaborated with Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) on an initiative aimed at enhancing public relations and community engagement services tailored to the growing Latino/a/e student population.

WHAT WE DID

Recognizing the pivotal role of this community for KCPS's growth trajectory, Madison West adopted a comprehensive approach to foster inclusivity and engagement.

RESULT

The cornerstone of this initiative was the implementation of bilingual focus groups in English and Spanish, engaging Latino/a/e students and parents in candid discussions about their experiences within KCPS. These sessions provided invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities present, guiding subsequent strategies to enhance engagement.

Furthermore, Madison West facilitated meetings with Latino community and business leaders to gauge perceptions of KCPS and gather recommendations for ensuring the welcome and engagement of Latino students and parents. This collaborative approach fostered meaningful dialogue and informed strategic decision-making.

Engagement with KCPS staff was also prioritized, allowing Madison West to gather feedback on observations and insights regarding Latino/a/e student and parent engagement. This multi-stakeholder approach ensured a holistic understanding of the current landscape and informed tailored strategies.

Madison West provided strategic messaging guidance to KCPS's team, emphasizing the importance of incorporating feedback from Latino/a/e stakeholders into their initiatives. Through media opportunities, KCPS leadership highlighted the critical role of engaging with Latino/a/e students and families in shaping the district's future.

Additionally, Madison West collaborated with Superintendent Collier to reorganize the Superintendent's Hispanic Advisory Council, fostering proactive engagement on critical educational outcomes for Latino/a/e students and families.

LET'S TALK RESULTS.
